Ruban was founded by Philip Cullen in 2017. He piloted the concept with the OurTown Passport scheme in Wexford – successfully advertising local businesses to the local community. The feedback from promoters (the businesses) and users (their customers) was uniformly positive.
The concept gripped people’s imagination – Local and National media picked up the story, and businesses in other towns contacted us about extending our town to their town. Clearly, there was a gap in the consumer market for RUBAN.
RUBAN promotes rural and urban businesses, from all over Ireland, in one easy-to-use online platform. Our name comes from a combination of Rural and Urban.
